Good Response To Home Expo
THE 2nd edition of CIMB Bank’s Perfect Livin 2009 Home and Lifestyle Exhibition raked in the ringgits even while its credit card holders enjoyed discounts of up to 70% for the products and services offered.
“We are looking at RM11mil in gross sales. It is not easy to estimate the figure because some products offered here are things like flooring and customers only pay a deposit for it and the rest is determined later,” CIMB Bank executive director Tunku Datuk Ahmad Burhanuddin said.
Held over four days at the Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC), some 250 exhibitors occupied over 700 booths spread over four floors encompassing 17,000 square metres.
A wide variety of products for both the interior and exterior of a home were offered at the event including electrical items, bedding, furnishings and kitchenware.
CIMB Bank credit card holders could also redeem their Bonus Points at the event and pay for their purchases at a 0% interest installment plan.
Ahmad said they had expected to register 5,000 new card members at the event. He said they currently had about 1.1 million card holders.
For the first time, the exhibition featured lifestyle products such as apparel, children’s toys and holiday packages as well.
“The Perfect Livin Concept Showcase makes a comeback along with the Internet Technology (IT) segment for this year’s event,” CNM Holdings Sdn Bhd chief operating officer Yam Fook Poh said.
Yam said family-orientated events were also held during the exhibition such as colouring contests, investment and feng shui talks as well as cooking demonstrations.
“The event has become so popular that we actually had to turn away many requests for booths by exhibitors over the past few weeks,” Yam said.
Due to the event’s popularity, the bank is now considering holding other editions of the event at other major cities.
